ABOUT

Sheena Liam Yue Sheen (b. 1991 Malaysia) is a contemporary artist known for her unique approach to textile art; particularly in the realm of embroidery.  She did her International Baccalaureate in Arts at the University of South Australia. Liam’s artwork challenges traditional boundaries, blending classical techniques with modern narratives. Her works serve as a visual journal of the self and explore the symbolic power of hair within the complex nature of femininity and embroidery as a tool of quiet resistance.

Sheena had her first solo exhibition in October 2018 with Item Gallery a contemporary art space closely connected with the fine art printing house Idem Paris.
